Startups from different countries to vie for investments at Sber500’s Demo Day

On November 7, Moscow is hosting a demo day for the fifth batch of Sber500, Sber’s international seed accelerator for tech startups, where the 30 strongest startups from Russia, Armenia, Turkey, and Israel, as well as AI companies from the Sber500 and GigaChat track, are scheduled to pitch their solutions to investors and corporations

The fifth Sber500 batch welcomed entries from 1,500 startups, with one-quarter submitted from abroad and spanning 28 countries apart from Russia. Moreover, a separate track for startups and individuals seeking to streamline their products with Sber’s GigaChat AI and create new neural models drawing on it saw 1,200+ entries, bringing the total count of accelerator participants to over 2,700.

This year’s Demo Day will be special in that any business angel, a venture capital fund or a corporation will be allowed to declare their intention to invest in the participating startups or offer them a pilot online throughout the Demo Day. A QR code facilitating offer collection will be displayed after each pitch, and the total amount of potential investments and contracts will be announced at the end of the show.
Alexander Vedyakhin, first deputy chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank:

Our fifth batch is different from previous ones. For the first time, more than a third of the participants are technology startups with knowledge-intensive designs. More than 1,500 startups applied for the fifth batch of Sber500, with one in four entries coming from abroad — this number attests to the trust in this country and in Sber as a reliable and promising partner. Sber500 graduates of the previous four batches have already proven their relevance both in and outside Russia. They have raised RUB 3.5 bn, while their annual revenue has grown by an average of 70%. We believe in startups and proactive people and want to help them make new breakthroughs. The Demo Day is a great opportunity to grow a business dramatically.
Apart from startup pitches, the Demo Day will feature a technology-driven performance by Kandinsky AI and its creative partners.
